is it even necessary to remove the knock sensor for this project??? And should I replace timing chain. anything y'all can help me out here with would be well received. I've removed:

and all other little associated sh@*! that goes in the process of getting to this point.

When I did this job on my wife's '02 echo (just for kicks) I removed the timing cover but had enough room to keep the engine in the engine bay.

The repair manual calls for removal of the timing cover and I honestly dont know if you can get away with doing it with the cover still assembled. I would just remove it. I'd leave the timing chain unless you had specific issues with it, those things last forever in these engines.

Knock sensor sits on the block so it doesnt gerd to he touched. Make sure you have a manual showing you how to reset the timing and where to place the rtv when reassembling.

I have the pdf on my google drive, but I dont think I can email you the full thing and I'm not the most IT literate person.

A Haynes manual will also work well. I believe there is a website that for $20 will give you full downloadable version of the factory repair manuals, I just cant remember the name off the top of my head
