rough ride
Hi everyone ,
I have a 2011 yaris hatch which I bought from a lady with only 18k on the clock about a year back. I now have 30k on it. My concern is the rough ride. She used to use the car in Boston and did not seem to have driven it much. I drive like 40 miles a day and the rough ride is getting me down. The suspension seems to be very hard, as I feel each and every small pot hole . I went to the Toyota dealer and tried the new yaris just to compare and found that the suspension feels much tighter and with more cushioning. I showed the car to the dealer and they say everything is fine, but then if it is fine why does my car ride so rough? They have no answer except to say leave it with us and we will check and let you know. I somehow am not comfortable with that and so did not leave it with them. You think the shocks might be bad or something like that. I went under and checked to see if I can find anything unusual, but all the rubber bushings seem to be good. I will give you an example of the roughness. When you drive on the little yellow dots in the center of the road it feels like there is no suspension action at all and I can feel the thuds. Any advise on this ?? |

Replace the shocks/struts if that is what you think the issue is.
Unless they are leaking, there isn't really anyway to know oif they are bad except for feeling how the ride is Bad shocks will typically cause bouncing since the springs are uncontrolled

could be the brand/model of tires. My previous Falken ZE914 Ecorun were really noisy and bumpy. Switched to Yokohama Bluearth ES32 and they are much more quiet and comfortable.
