Rust Warranty?

so this is a very generic odd question, does anyone know the standard Toyota Rust Warranty from 2010? my 2010 yaris has an odd spot coming through the paint in the wheel well (but yet its not rusted inside) The dealer hasn't been much help with the info.

from some reason I recall 10 year rust coverage

Odds are they won't help you. 99% of warranties on that sort of thing have a bunch of clauses in them to weasel them out of covering it. I remember reading on my sister's 4 Runner that the rust warranty was voided by "water contamination" lol.

iirc its 5yr 160k in canada

even if it was longer, they won't likely replace something unless its perforated the panel...

thanks guys, yeah spoke to Toyota and they wont cover it. rust is starting to poke through the paint between the rear door and the rear wheel well. its odd because the rust started under the paint (I'm assuming) as the inner rear well is in great condition.

Unfortunately when it comes to warranties, especially rust specific ones they rarely ever help as Mason stated above. They are more or less used as a selling feature

Keep it coated in a rust inhibitor from all sides and that should at least severely limit its spread
