Car wouldn't start up

it was the strangest thing. the car wouldn't start up, 3 people and one confused dealer later it still wouldn't start up.

40 minutes later and a lot of swearing and sitting outside in the hot sun, and the car still wouldn't start.

Everything was checking out find, i had no idea what was wrong with the car neither did my father, my brother and the dealer.

that is until we tried moving aside the bulky floormat and realized the clutch was right at that border where it was "pressed in but just barely all the way in"

so...trimmed the plastic floormat and thanked god that it wasn't an ACTUAL mechanical issue.

...

those gosh darn it floor mats I had a problem before in my maxima where i didn't accelerate as much i usually do. .and it turns out that the floor mats was a lil wedged into the gas pedal so that I couldn't press it down hard.

Luckily with Toyotas, the cause being engine would be very rare!

heh, reminds me of when I picked up my car from the dealership... I didn't know about the clutch thing, I tried and tried to crank the engine, I then ran back into the office and told them that uh, I think the car's broken... oops!

More of concern would be the brake pedal getting not enough travel when you needed to brake hard.
