hello I am new....and my Yaris is totaled.

First post here, wish is was under better circumstances. Got rear ended, they did not hit me very hard, but I was on a downward sloping hill. Pushed me into the back of a construction truck with a raised flatbed. Totaled the car. Will be getting a 2008 in a few weeks as a replacement.

I have pretty bad bruising from the seat belt, and the airbag bruised my chest, but other than that, and the emotional scarring, I am fine. Thanks for the welcome.

Dayum! I'm sorry that you had to go through that but I'm glad you're alright. The silver lining is that we now have another testament to the Yaris' safety. As far as we know there has not yet been a Yaris driver involved in an accident or wreck that didn't walk away from it.

I am getting a 2008 HB. Same color as well. Only down-side is that it doesn't have the power package I want, but I really can't wait 90 days for a car, so I will have to settle for the base model. Oh well.

wish I could, but renting a car for three months is not feasible for me at this time.

well not exactly. The insurance company will pay the value of the car, (12,227) less the deductible to the lien holder. There is still a small balance, which GAP insurance should cover. Then I just get a new loan and start all over again.

just the $500 deductible. That is because the other driver has a crappy insurance company. My company is going to have to fight to get it back.

hearing that about the gap insurance makes me feel better about having gotten it myself...i turned it down along with the extended warranty a couple times when dealing with the finance guy but, on the third discount i couldn't say no...i ended up getting it for way cheaper and this is a perfect example of how it can save you some $ in the worst case scenario...sorry about the car, like everyone said though, at least you'll be rockin an '08 soon...
