"S" cluster in non s car?

Is it possible to swap the cluster from the "S" or the sedan into the cars without the tach. I would really like to add a tach but want to go the most oem look as possible.

Same here!! I would get one if it works, but another question I have is about how the odometer will get the mileage programmed.
There is a related thread about this but it seems no one confirm with 09’ s-model in USA.

the mileage isnt stored on the cluster, its stored in the ecu. ive swapped the cluster out on my volvo before which was all electronic so i bet you can do it too the yaris. i bet a cluster isnt cheap though.

it was, and I believe the consensus was that it is not plug and play. You could probably get a cluster and wire it if you're familiar with the wires in the dash.

I believe it fits physically but it is a PITA to wire.

My Scion tC stores mileage data in the cluster. So I don't know about the Yaris.

I think before the hack they also figured out that it was stored in the cluster.

Also the price for a new S cluster ended up being around $500.

i thought it was all already been over that it works?

if you get a LB cluster with tach will work on all other LB. same for sedan.

and the mileage is stored in the cluster

Sedan cluster will NOT fit an LB. An Lb 'S' cluster should plug and play with a non 'S' LB, but good luck finding one. And supposedely mileage is stored in both the ECU and cluster...

This plug and play suggestion is from experience? Because from what I remember some people looked in to this prehack and came to the conclusion that it would require wiring...

No, I thought someone on here had done it, or at least compared the two side by side. If I am wrong I will happily delete the post...

The mileage is contained in the cluster. I bought a second project cluster on eBaY and whenever I hooked it up, the lcd said my mileage was 16,000+. I only had like 12,000 miles on my car at the time.

Yeah, I meant finding one for cheap would be difficult. Although maybe more wrecked Yarii S's are showing up at salvages...
