Idle rotates failure?!
Hi
I'm writing on this forum from Poland because on our forums I can't find any reasonable responses. Two months ago I bought brand new Toyota Yaris third generation with 1.33 engine and 6 speed manaul gearbox. First month of car usage was deprived out of any worries but a few days ago i observed that engine rpms when car stops on traffic lights or in garage are randomly stayed - usually between 800 and 1000 rpm (on warm/hot engine) Sometimes just after stop rpms a re stopped @ 980, then goes down to 900 and goes back to 900rpm. Is it proper ? Tomorow I will goe to my dealer to diagnose that issue. |

The IDLE does fluctuate when AC is on though.
It also fluctuates when the radiator fan turns on and off. |

Idle
Hey you are doing good if yours is Idling at 800+ rpm. Mine go's down to 500-400 sometimes but it always fluctuates with A/C on or off .To answer your question, yes it's normal to fluctuate.

it really depends on the engine's temperature.
mine does around 800 when AC on, and i'm around 650rpm when engine is fully warmed AC off. I'm often around 900 when the COOL light just turned off, but in reality, engine is not fully hot. |
