Umm on that blue Yaris the front wheels need less poke and needs more of a drop, fenders need to be pulled more. The OP's is flush, pur blus ummm not so much.

Not taking anything away from Pur Blu. Just a different route. Wider wheels, not as low, mexiflush and just a aggressive roll/pull rather then a wider rear end. Looks good just different.

Pur blu is just waiting to get coilovers or something that can lower him more. He's just on springs right now.

Kongo-Otto, I think what you mean is cars that are hellaflush are harder to drive rather than undriveable.

And I thought the car modding scene out there was big?

It is. But it is very different, too. And more expensive because nearly any part needs an official certificate and many parts need to be examined at your own car after modding by official technicians. Otherwise you could get in trouble with the insurance, police and you will lose your operating license for your car. This means the car is illegal for street use.

To put in in another way: You can not buy some springs or coilovers, mount them and be happy. The car has to get an alignment (wheels and headlights) and has to be approved by an engineer (not an ordinary mechanic at your dealer). This engineer will write down some kind of certificate which tells anybody that your car is still legal for street use. If there is any tire rubbing or not enough ground clearance -> no certificate. Thats why i thought your VIP cars use airride, too. Many cars here use them if they are super low. Its just for the show and people are not allowed to drive them this way.

And of course there are some illegal cars in germany on the roads. But these people will risk their licence because major violations will be saved into a database. You get points and if there are too much of them the license is lost.

Kongo-Otto: That sucks about the certification process.

jekgmb: He's going the other way around, working around his fitment.

Had issues with the original bodywork done to the car after the 1st accident and the day after we picked it up from the first (piss poor) body shop we got rear ended and the ings+ rear bumper died.

Picked up a c-one rear bumper and got to work fitting the wheels.
16x8+0 xxr 002 wheels in the back. Stuck out a good 1-1.5" past the fender. Add 3 degree camber shims. Roll and pull didnt clear it well enough. So widened the rear by 1". All factory sheet metal. Lemme know what ya think.

Any updates or mods added since the OP?

Also could you explain how the widening process using factory sheet metal is done? Thanks

Great looking car.
