The only difference is probably the bypass filter on the TRD CAI.

I'm interested in facts and data, not opinion. There is enough misconception going around, lets not mislead ourselves due to laziness.

I've had the TRD CAI for 3 years now and would never buy another one. The bypass filter cracked after about 1 1/2 years. It doesn't come with a warranty either because its for off road use only.

I got lucky and another member removed his and gave it to me for the cost of shipping. Otherwise, I would have had to buy a whole new intake. I contacted TRD about it and they said that they don't sell just the bypass filter by itself.

By the way, nice looking engine bay!
Thanks for the compliment. I remember for a while, the picture that was given to dealers for the TRD CAI showed the actual AEM labled intake...LOL. The differnence was, the "TRD" came standard with the water bypass valve, a "TRD" decal and an AEM oiled filter with "TRD" stamped on the top.

BTW, 2.25" diameter for both the AEM and "TRD".

I got the e-mail from AEM, and they verified they make the intake. So nobody should get the TRD, buy the AEM and put a TRD sticker on it...lol.how much was the TRD CAI?

Great work

TRDsparks has it listed for $305 http://www.trdsparks.com/displaypart...&parts_id=1299

But you can get the AEM cheaper from Garm

And that is why I didn't bother to buy the TRD intake. For less I got a better (IMO) intake (injen sp2024blk).

At least the exhaust, while not made by TRD, is unique.

At the time I had a TRD theme going on with the Egg, that's why I went with it. I got a great deal on it though, as TRD was having a "sale" at the time. I think I got it through Sparks for $185.....cheaper than the AEM at the time.

Just as a heads up I found out further clarification for Maine today as a friend was mailed a letter about the changes. As long as the exhaust does not go above 95db you can run it on your car in Maine.

Now that we have all of the facts on the TRD blasphemy, what intake would be best...between CAI's and SRI's?
