This has already been done. There were many threads about this topic pre-hack.

B... I dont recall any of the threads mentioning any of our members trying to connect the OEM CC switch assemble with the required wiring harness to the steering wheel connector to test it… Unless I over look it…

Can you elaborate on the issue that was found back then?..

- Was it a wiring issue?
- ECU Issues?

Thanks…

I assume in the US, the PowerPackage is the package that came with the factory OEM CC switch that is built into the steering wheel as noted by Scotts parts diagram.. If so, yes...

b, you noted that you have a sedan with the power package and cc, do you mind checking your ECU part number?, it will be noted on the front of the ECU on a sticker..

thanks

Yes I have an 08 with the power package that has CC and an 07 without power package that has CC. The power package CC is always mounted on the right side of the steering column while the non-power package CC is mounted on the left side of the steering column.

I will check my ECU part number....One questions though, where is the ECU? I know Im a noob....

In the engine bay on the left handside on the back wall.. You will see two large connector on the top of it.. the label is in the middle of the ECU on the face..

If you can, can you check your 07 and 08?

thanks

does the 07 yaris rs have a light on the dash for the cruise? I have the aftermarket dealer installed cruise on the left hand side with a green light on the stick. If I can change to the better looking one I will as I would assume all the parts are there, so a stick change should work. Shed some light into this issue, will it work?

Yes, the crusie light is built into the combination meter. I really don't understand why the dealer installed ones are aftermarket ones. It kind of makes me think that there is something more to this than we think...

It does seem that way, but for all of the info on the OEM CC unit and the info all being OEM like the Service Manual, EPC, and confirmed wiring is there... and the confirmed 08 model with the enhanced power package comes with the OEM CC, it makes no sense to why the aftermarket unit was pushed as the dealer install option..

I have been searching the local wreckers to find a compatible CC switch which from all of the online Toyota OEM parts suppliers claims that 07+ Camry and many other models of cars use the same CC switch unit...

I will then purchase the wire harness once I have the switch and give it a shot (cross my fingers!).. Unless someone can beat me too it!

As I posted before, my 08 with power package has the same CC that was in my 05 Tacoma so more than likely all Toyota's CC for vehicles with the power package is the same(at least going back to 2005). My 07 does not have the power package but has the Rostra CC. This CC was not installed by the dealer. It was either installed by the distributor(the port) or was installed in Japan. The same exact Rostra CC that is on my 07 Yaris is the same one that is on my parents 2001 Tacoma. So Toyota has been using the same setup for at least 7 years.

I will take a look at my ECU number tomorrow and post them on here.

Thanks for the feedback...

My 08 Sedan has the same ECU as your 08 with the PP and OEM CC..

So, it looks like all of the planets are pretty much all lined up…

Confirmed ECU, Wiring is in place, Confirmed part#s…. Just need to try it now..

It's the same CC as an 05 Tacoma so yes, it will fit an 07.
