Trunk Issues - Liftback
Hi everyone,
I'm super noob at this. I've searched what feels like everywhere for an answer or help (the thread I found has no answers). I have a 2006 Yaris Liftback and my truck is stuck. Its not locked. The button to open it doesn't seem to push in all the way and its not locked. I've also tried pulling it open and kicking the trunk door from the inside. I took it to Toyota and they said it would cost $300 just to look at it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! |

There is a little separate cover on the inside of the hatch that gives you direct access to the latching mechanism. The push button on the outside simply flicks a small lever to the side to unlatch the hatch. With that cover open you can flip the lever by hand to get it open.
