Im old School Toyota man , my daughter came in telling me her car was whining and louder when reving it up , plus the charge light comes on now and then, i said ok new Alternator needed. Friend said there are Jap and French models and might not be the same.
could anyone help
its a 03 model engine No SCP10R its 1,000cc
Is it Japanese or French, and would a Jap or French be the same , or would i have to fit the same.
are they easy to get off and out, are they better getting from top or underneath.

SCP10R is French made.

There are two alternators for that car. 27060-0J030 is 70A output and 27060-0J040 is 90A output. It looks like the 70A was used on the two base models and the 90A was used on the more equipped models.

You can change it from the top, but the bottom bolt has a tendency to break if the car spent time in salt air or where salt is used on the roads.
