Filling up using spare gas tank.

I get free gas every week from my company that I usually fill up my car with. After I fill my tank up I fill an extra 2gal. tank. I was filling up my car for the first time using this and when filling up some of the gas comes out? Is there some kind of ball on these new cars thats preventing me from filling up from a gas tank? Any info would be helpful, thanks guys!

Any tips?
1. Opens gas tank.
2. Puts hose into gas tank.
3. Pour until gas tank is finished.

I'm pouring it slowly. Gas continues to come out. I'm low on gas so I know I'm not overflowing it. Odd too scared to continue.

Did you forget to look at the fuel gauge?
I assume you aren't used to having your brother fill it up after borrowing it?
However, that was nice of him.
