Advice

I got that dreaded letter for the recall about the foam issue, any suggestions on a dealership to take it to that won't spend 3 hrs doing this simple recall?

Thanks

I don’t know who to take it to. However, I would go with a firm resolve to only have the recall item done. Once on a Dodge truck recall the service manager put a lot of pressure on me for other maintenance items. To the tune of $300

Probably can't do any better than the dealer either closest to home or work. Drop it off, shuttle service to work, shuttle back to dealer when done.

Maple Toyota is where I go whenever I am in Toronto ... which is almost all the time. They have excellent service there. Way better than the stealership in Sudbury.

uncleyaris: try dixie 401 toyota?

it's a recall that takes 30mins to do... just remove some trim and rubber.. pull a plastic, fish for 10mins for that piece of foam, put back everything together and do the other side.

if you go into the recall with rims on, would they still consider that as "stock"?

i dont think they care about your rims. This isn't a warranty thing that you might be voiding... This is a recall... Has nothing to do with any of that. It is clearly stated as their fault... not an aftermarket part.

Ya, i drove my car in today and they didn't say a thing about it.

They will fix it and wash your car for about 50 minutes.

Vehicle Recall Notice

Will someone please clarify what particular recall is this and what model year Yaris is affected. More details will be appreciated. TIA.

This is exactly the same notice letter I got in this thread. 2006 and 2007 are the model years affected.

I think they will take out some kind of sound insulator foam that may cause fire in case of serious frontal collision.

I go to the Surrey Jim Pattison Toyota near 152nd street and 108nd avenue.
I bought my car from Toyota White rock so I think you can pick any place to phone in and make appointment.

Haha, I was surprising that they take this long to take out the sound insulator foam. After I see my car was washed nice and clean, I then realize they may spend most of the time washing my car haha

Everyone can go in there modded without any problem, their job just to remove the sound insulator foam.

I seem to recall reading that the recall work only takes 45 minutes.
If it were me I'd book an early Sat. a.m. appointment, grab the Wheels section (from the Sat. Toronto Star), pick-up an XL Timmy's and enjoy some quiet time at your stealerships customer lounge.
