BRAKE PADS

Is there any consensus on the best replacement front brake pads? 2008 HB.

Centric ceramic. Even the dealers here use them if they don't have the
correct parts on hand.

OEM pads have lasted me over 60k each time, and I drive hard. I am at 133k miles and still haven't changed the second set out. Though I am getting ready to.

I vote for OEM too. Brake pads. Air filter. Belt. Coolant. All except the oil filter.

For regular day to day, OEM should be just fine.

If you want to take it up a notch, try Raybestos. They supply brake components to many police patrol vehicles.

Lines

Are steel braided brake lines worth the expense?

I disagree they do make a difference. No flex in the lines. If your lines are showing wear then 4 lines for $100 is not a biggy. It's day and night the difference even stopping at the corner by your house.

Im going 25 mph or less at the corner by my house...and everywhere else in my

neighborhood.

No aftermarket accessories needed in the stopping department!

OEM as well...

I've noticed that the driver's side pads wear more than the passenger's. Is this normal?

I'm using HAWK pads now. Can't comment on there durability but they sure stop strong and combined with the sticky new Comp 2 rubber my biggest concern is in the rear view mirror.

Replaced Front Pads and Rotors, and Rear shoes at 100k. Also turned the rear drums at 100k. All new parts made by Beck Arnley. 155k miles now, with plenty of meat left. (More than 50%) Some intermittent brake noise but I think it's just hard spots in the pads.
