Anyone add a high flow cat to nitto midpipe?
I'm also going to check out some local shops and see if anyone can do a custom stainless midpipe too for comparison... Can anyone recommend a quality high flow cat? Saw the magnaflow one for like $97 in a few places. |

I've run a few magnaflow cats in the past on my jeeps and one on my e30 m3 and I can say they aren't the greatest. Heat shields come off within the first year and they tend to burn out really quickly. My m3 went through one in 2 years and I got about 4 years on the ones on my jeeps. They're a good price but I guess you get what you pay for.

The Magnaflow metal core converters are very good, durable, and not very restrictive.

It needs to be place upstream of the 2nd o2 sensor. It may throw a code depending on how well it works.
IT IS NOT LEGAL FOR EMISSIONS controlled vehicles, but that doesn't mean you'll fail a test in Georgia, not sure of what they check. |

I've heard without a cat the exhaust can smell so that's my real reason for wanting one |

Yeah. It would probably just replace it.

I was thinking of cutting out the midpipe and put a cherry bomb old school (like the straight Thrush mufflers) But, not sure as yet. I know Maremont has some numbers for high flow chevy 3.1 cats, as chevy needs them or their check eng lite comes on..I would probably jump to that cat if I could, the high flow chevy cat from maremont (Meineke owners can get you one)

In malaysia we do not have regulations for cats, so we can happily do a cat delete....
