Anyone have a Change Compartment Fix?

The drop down change compartment on my 2008 keeps falling down (the clasp no longer will hold even the door up when going over a bump).

Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a fix? Should it be covered by Toyota?

I don't think its covered by warranty. Can you post a picture of it?

Mine started doing this one time. I looked around on the floor and found a metal clip that had popped off of the top of the compartment. I put it back on and it has worked fine since then. If the clip is still attached, maybe you need to remove it and bend it out a little wider and then put it back.

Yup, this is my only complaint about the yaris. I crack my shin on it about once a month. Never saw a metal clip, and if there was one, its long gone.

I tried little velcro tabs on the upper lip of the box, but the velcro was stronger than the glue backing(damn 99 cent store), and ripped the entire tab off the box. I'm gonna try to epoxy the velcro strips next time, hopefully it will hold. Unfortunately one of the top pegs that slides and locks in broke off after repeatedly being knocked out by my leg when I enter/exit the vehicle.

I was thinking about using some rare earth magnets to keep it up... Might be worth a try....

The wife took it to the shop and they said that they were ordering in a new clip and that it would be fixed under warranty.
