Eco button in old yaris?

I bought an old Toyota Yaris, manual transmission (1999-2003) and do not understand what is here. This button lights up when car lights is turned on. When driving nothing changes.

Is it a on/off button for a start/stop system?

what model, what engine, where did the car originate from? It isn't an option we ever saw in the USA.

Once again, check the car vin and got this:
Manufacturer - Toyota
Model - Yaris (200-07-11 first registration)
Body type - 3-door
Fuel Type - Petrol
Engine capacity [cm3] -1000
Country of manufacturer - Japan
Transmission Type -Manual
Line - TOYOTA STOP & GO SYSTEM
Engine- 1000CC DOHC EFI 16VALVE
Gearbox - MTM, 5-SPEED FLOOR SHIFT
Safety restraints: Manual Belts w/2 Airbags and Side Airbags

So, if I understand correctly this is a Toyota Vitz. Which has
STOP & GO SYSTEM. Stop-start system automatically shuts down and restarts the internal combustion engine to reduce the amount of time the engine spends idling, thereby reducing fuel consumption and emissions. And
previous owner turned it off.
