DIY Ebay fog lights

I purchased these lights from user jimcat here on Yarisworld. They are a great little aftermarket kit. I was very impressed with the fitment.
There has been a few tutorials but not to easy to follow. The bulbs that came with them are the stock dim look and I installed some hyperwhites.

Box they came in

Factory style harness

harness out of box

Factory style fog light switch, Factory style plug.

Rear of light shot

fog light out of box shot

Squeeze cilps to remove plastic cover from bumper

Factory covers removed

installing in lamp in Bumper only 1 screw is used per side

Inside bumper shot

Fogs installed

pull up at ebrake handle to remove switch bank

Switch in place of dummy panel

Switch installed

Switch with fogs on. there is no light on the switch when fogs are off not even night illumination

Without flash

With camera flash

Bigger photo for diagram link

The only problems I had is there is no instructions and the harness is factory style and all the plugs look factory but there is no place to hook them up. There are 2 wires a large one going to a fuse and to the relay and a small red wire that is 12 volt feed to power the relay. I used the 12 volt outlet (grey wire) for the red wire and a hard line from the battery to the white wire. The way is works is key on and fog switch on you have fogs with or without headlights this is the way I wanted it. I can even have fogs with brights on.
I think the kit is a good quality kit. I got mine on the cheap (cheaper than ebay)
Jimcat is in Hong Kong and he gives super fast shipping He got it to me in Georgia is about 4 days

UPDATE!!!! READ Carefully
1) On the front harness where can I find the best grounding bolt? I think there is one close to the pass headlamp on the frame rail.

2) What switched 12V source do I hook the red wire up to??
A --Use the grey wire from the 12 volt outlet. It has a plug on it. It is a little hard to reach arround and get to but not to bad. You will have to cut the plug off on the fog harness there is no plug that connecter they have fits into our cars.

3) The wire that the brown thing is connected to, I am assuming that it goes to the battery correct and if so is it + or -?.
A--Large white wire with brown plug, cut it off and put on a connecter to hoof it strait to the battery.
BROWN plug is the same no place to plug it in on a US Yaris.

4) And Lastly where exatly did you mount the relay???
A---I mounted it with a few zip ties behind the glove box.

Also take the wires out of the ac drain tube groment. You will need to extend the wires some into the engine bay. Mount the fog harness from pass to driver (driver being the very end of the harness).

I drilled a hole and picked up a groment off a old Dodge neon radiator mount. Worked great and I dont have to hunt to make it into the engine bay for future wires.

That's a nice looking kit. I like the adjuster facing downward - not to the back like my eBay version.

What do you mean by 'fried egg' look? They look like standard clear H11 bulbs to me. Most people say fried eggs about yellow/amber lights (which would be nice for a fog). That coating on the tip of the bulb is supposed to be there.

I thought the kit was real nice too. It fit very well. I may be mis quoting the fried egg look but to me with my stock headlamps (b4 the hidled units and brighter bulbs) they looked like yellow dim fried eggs. the fogs are the same they need some hi intensity white h11 lamps.

Cool isht! I just installed what looks to be basically the same set on my Yaris last night. Where did you route your harness through to get inside the car? I took mine through the parking brake cable hole (had to cut a small groove in the grommet so it still seals even with the wire fed through. Cut off about 18" of the plastic insulator so it could fit but put it back on when the wire was fed through.) I couldn't figure out what the brown connector and white connector plugged into so I just spliced them into the power wire for the 12v outlet. My fogs came with hyperwhite bulbs though. Pix soon.

Now as for those CQ Lighting HID's and JDM Vitz tailights...

Check the brown Plug (larger wire be sure to get power dirrect from the battery or you may overload the wires and a start a fire. the larger is 12v constant dirrect from battery and the smaller wire is 12 volt swiched (got that from the 12v outlet grey wire). I did not want to cut any boots or wires so I drilled a hole in the firewall and I used a rubber washer I had from one of my Dodge neon projects ( it was off the upper radiator support). It fit perfectly and now I do not have to wory about installing new stuff under the hood and into the interior.

if it was one month before, I might saved 200 or so on my installation
I had mine installed last month

I've just noticed something strange

water, or water vapour (not really sure) is getting into the fogs

anyway ton clean it up and avoid that in the future

Take out the console. 1 10 mm bolt inder the rear cup holder. Then reach under and unplug the power port.

Also I have had no water issues (been raining here like crazy). But with some aftermarket lens housingd it is a good idea to run a bead of silicone along the edge of the lens and housing. My old Dodge Neon APC tails leaked like crazy inside had to seal them up.
My fogs looked well made and well built and I am picky. I did not buy on ebay because thay wanted too damm much.
