Everyone wants more power but it comes with a cost - the cost to fuel economy which is a major selling point for the Yaris. If you want more power, there are a whole bunch of cars that suck more gas to choose from.

A hp increase is good if engineers manage to maintain or even increase FE but don't make the Yaris more powerful if it can't do at least 40 mpg.

marcus, im pretty sure teh 26km/L is for the 1.3L, not the 2nrfe

either way, interesting changes are afoot, it seems. 15more hp would be welcome - - ideally with dual vvt...?

I wonder if they made the gas tank bigger otherwise it wouldn't be possible for most people to scare 1000km a tank, unless they're talking about the 1.0l engine.

vw diesel i think does about 900 - 1000 km per tank. ofcourse you may need to hypermill.

well, 26km/L is 3.85L/100km....so assuming a 42L tank, thats 1090km/tank

but im confident thats NOT with the 1.5L

xd engine is the 2zrfe which they also use in the yaris TS currently in europe

the newly designed 1.5L will likely have the same timing changes the the fits 1.5L to grab another 10hp
