Maint Req.
Sorry, but it seems my poor yaris did not come with it's manual. Was wondering if anyone knows how to turn off the maint req light?

Make sure your thing is set on Trip 1 I think.
turn off ur car open door close door while holding down the thingy (trip 1) go on that last click before you turn on ur engine make sure ur still holding the button...wait for like 20 secs..u will see zeros appearing..wait untill its all 0. n ur set..just hold it for 30 secs. If im wrong correct me.. Its either trip 1 or just staying on your ODO reading.. -- Blen

i had mine on Trip A, took the key out. pressed and held the "odo" button down, put the key in and switched it to on while pressing the odo button, waited for the dotted lines to disappear, and voi-la, the maintenance light went off. just did it like 4 hours ago. hope that helps.

There is a sticky in the DIY section that explains this.

First make sure you changed your oil, then if you are realy lazy like me, go to the dealership and make one of the service advisors do it for you, they are usually just standing there anyway... they just love to see a Yaris at my dealership and swarm towards it

Now does the light come on every 5000 miles according to the odo or 5000 miles since you last reset it?

actually I thought about doing this, but am to lzy to drive to the dealer for a small thing like this. Usually I'd be able to figure it out without the manua, but seems it is done a bit differently on this car.

Don't take much effort to do a "search" either.

....I was refering to ItsMyDaily quote.
Hey, I know this is a forum to ask questions and get answers/information........but I see (and so do You) the same questions asked over and over again; how do you turn/reset the maint light off; what kind of oil and oil filter should I use; which is the best; what kind of gas mileage do you get etc. I know the "search" thingy would help cause there is a shitload of answers in there for all these same questions. Ok, maybe it's just as easy to post a new thread, I don't know. Maybe there just isn't anything else to ask on a Yaris ? Or Maybe I'm just ranting because I'm in a bad mood and getting bored ?! I need a drink.
