Race Engine Idle

Figured it would be a fun thing to post. Here is a idle clip of my new race engine. These were the biggest cams the cam grinder was able to make me, car no longer likes to idle but it certainly sounds nice.

Idle? Who needs idle on a racecar?
Out of curiosity, what sort of power levels and redlines do the B-Spec Yarii get to? I'm not that familair with the rules.
Cheers.

In B-Spec trim it puts down around 102hp to the wheels, this is HP trim though so I should be making a good deal more than that, but I don't know what it puts down just yet.

That sounds aggressive, what is the full mod list you have done to your Yaris?

Fully built engine with forged rods and pistons, cams are regrinds from Schneider 274f grind, 4-1 custom long tube headers, dc intake. I could go on but basically everything on the car has been touched at some point.

OK. I guess I should have know it wasn't B-Spec anymore. I'm no expert on B-Spec rules but

I'm hoping for a new redline of about 8200 rpm, but I'm not sure if my valve springs are up to it. Shortblock is built to handle 9k but the VVT actuator doesn't like the valve springs I bought so I'm currently running stock springs with TI retainers.

I did 7850rpm at Mid-Ohio on stock springs, rods and pistons. But I wont push that engine that hard the rest of the year. Also going back to stock springs for my other motor, and will cut back from the 9000rpm we tuned for at Daytona. 8000rpm is probably safe, and there is probably not any power up there anyway.

The Ti retainers weigh a little less than steel retainers, should be good for a few hundred RPM but I won't know till its dynoed. Still have lots of little things to fix before I get there.
