Painting headlight housing black need diy..

So i was looking at the picture of the xrs 09 sedan. The housing is black the upper non relfective part. And it looks really sick. I was thinking about doing this simple mod to my 08 sedan. I read a diy before about removing the front bumper. Then placing the headlight in a oven til the glue gets soft and then poping it apart to paint it. I dont remember the temperature nor how long to leave it in. If someone has done this before could you please post your first hand experiences. I dont want to melt something. Also if anyone has done this on black could you post a pic. I would like to see the end results.

Here is a pic of what i would like the finished product to look like

Use a heat gun.

Can use a 10$ heat gun from Amazon and start with one corner of the headlight, then sides, and then last corner. I started with the oven but it seemed pretty sketchy to hold and take in and out with the right timing.
