headlights won't turn off

Hi, nice to be here, i am a new yaris community member. I bought a 2008 Yaris 2D hatchback one week ago.

Now, I found, after i start my car, the headlight won't turn off, whether the switch is on or off. I don't know why.

I think when I got an chance I can take a picture to show you. Please help.

thanks.

LOL. It is called daytime running lights. If you start your car with the ebrake on they will not turn on, but as soon as you drop the ebrake they will turn on. There are some threads on here about how to bypass them, if you care to.

My 2008 hatchback doesn't have DRLs, so if he has them, they were done after the fact...

Which begs the question, how does on add DRLs to a car without them?

My 08s both do. It was part of the cold weather package.

You can't really add them unless you go aftermarket as there are significant harness differences for OEM.

Interesting. I don't know it is a normal thing and thought it was a problem...
