The ugly 2015 Yaris made the Shit list

Well, Consumer Reports has never had any credibility with me. Unless the new Yaris is way different than my 2010...their review is off the mark.

When I consider any car the first thing I look for is reliability followed closely by utility. It goes without saying I want economy. The Yaris has all of those and you would think something called Consumer Reports would also value those things. Instead they value acceleration and luxury comforts and also nowadays is the car a computer on wheels. People who want a small car aren't interested in those things they want cheap reliable transportation.

yea, I wouldn't be surprised in 5 years the list of the worst used cars to stay away from will have many on the 2015 Consumer Reports list of recommended new car list.

I think that the 2015 Yaris looks really sharp in the SE version, and better than any previous OEM incarnation of the Yaris in the USA (though I also do like the previous S/SE models). Not so much once you start stripping it down to other trim levels. But then, aesthetics are always subjective.

If I listened to CR, I would be driving a fugly new weak-stanced Corolla - which didn't feel any better driving around than my Yaris SE did, cost more, looked absolutely unappealing to me from just about every angle, and isn't a hatchback. Plus, those poorly-implemented LED headlights on the Corolla are annoying/painful as hell to look at if you meet one oncoming on the road when they have them on.

Plus, I'm not sure how CR can disembowel the Yaris without giving the Versa and Fit equal treatment. I didn't like either of those cars when I tested them as much as I did my Yaris. Same with the Fiesta, etc.

I think Honda must have CR in their pocket. The new Fit CVT is a miserable car compared to the current Yaris! The Versa Note?... well, that's just a piece of junk.

Send a message via AIM to Thirty-Nine
I'll stick to my long-standing view that CR should stick to reviewing toasters.
