It's always good to get out of the country to clear your head, but also really good to come back, if you know what I mean! ;) You know, they have the greatest little cars over in Europe. I saw a lot of Yarii in France, tons of them, actually, on the freeways, but not as many in Paris. More SMARTS and Clio's and other type of small cars. I saw the cutest little FORD, really, really small, never seen anything like this in the US It's somewhere on my HD, hang on, here you go. |

Is that right? Well, I didn't drive it but I was impressed by the number of small cars similar to our Yaris (hatchback, ultra compact)

Europeans are "thrifty", vast majority have learned that it is easier to commute if you have a smaller car, that city life can be so much simpler with a small turning radius and short wheelbase. It is only now this concept of automotive living is becoming a reality here in the US. Just getting people to trade down to a lower cost and sometimes a slower car is a hard thing to grasp.
Too bad we cant tell this to some of the Excursion driving soccer moms that swear up and down they still need the 12mpg hog to get back and forth to Sam's Club on the weekends. Hell, even companies like Mazda are headed in the right direction trying to solve this... Make a Crossover Minivan, lol. The Mazda 5 is a great little car/van/thing. It can seat plenty, and still have room in the hatch for some groceries.
