Ross Racing releases pistons for 1NZ-FE

I was at my tuner's place today, and saw they had a bunch of goodies arriving including my set of custom made pistons from Ross Racing.

I was told that Ross Racing produced 75.5mm and 76mm sized pistons for the 1NZ-FE.

But my tuner had mine custom made to 77mm though with gas ports.

I'm really happy to see more and more parts are being produced for our 1NZ-FE motor. Give us consumers more options to choose from and to compare with.

Some pictures for your viewing pleasure.

Damn that's steep I guess thats the price you have to pay for uncommon performance parts though

Those are custom made pistons with gas ports, thats why the $700 price tag. Shelf stocks are going to be less. CP's shelf stocks are in the $550-$600 range with rings.....

77mm seems too much for a 1nzfe block. There might be a problem between cyclinder bores!

^ Mine are larger than stock, no problems.

Ross quoted me about $760 a set for the oversized ones, it's a custom order. I am guessing shelf stock will be 600-700, just a guess though.

^Mine are larger 0.5mm coming about 75.5mm.

Seeing the block of a 75.5mm bore, it seems there is few distance between each bore. I could imagine removing 1.5mm from every bore side which is equal to a total of 12mm less distance between bores ! I don't think you would be safe running at that bore cut especially on boost and high revs.

Thats my opinion btw...

yeah i would have thought so too, the block is currently in Golden Eagle at the moment getting sleeved.

so when its back, we'll know whether the 77mm pistons will fit or not. (i hope it will or else you'll see me )

If you use 77mm on a stock sleeve block I too think there would be issues, but since the block is being sleeved 77mm will be OK...

I got mine sleeved there too. Not a lot of meat to play with on the 1NZ block!
