Custom harness bar

I spent some time with John Kuchta of Specialty Cars (a Yaris owner, "jkuchta" on here), and he fabbed up a nice harness bar for me. This one rotates on the lower seat belt bolt so both distance and height adjust. Double braces and very beefy Heim joints were used. I have to say, John is very very good!

We decided to make a bolt-in one because (1) someone else might want one and (2) when I do a weld-in full cage, we can remove this one and sell it.

Got a little more tweaking to do on this prototype, then I can powdercoat it. We did this one so I could keep my X brace in place, as you can see on the rear plate close-up pic.

Will he make you one? Yes.
Are they cheap? No.
Will this work with the back seat in? Not this design, you'd need one that attaches to the top seat belt bolts instead.

Here are a few pics -- finally I get to use harnesses!

Looks really fricken WHAMMY. Great welds, Heim joints and I like the 90° braces.
Real quality work

It's beautiful!

I need some longer rods that connect the harness bar to the seatbelt bolts so that I can try out my harness bar! Would John be able to help me with that?

^^ Dope Garm , I saw this over on Mi forums but yoy posted better picstures on here. I really like the design but noticed you never installed the lower cross brace on your miracle cross bar and now the harness bar mount is blocking it from ever being installed , so can I have that bar Man

I prefer this design to some I have seen. I take it the bottom of the hoop bolts to the floor?

thanks guys.

Jay if I can find it, it's yours, I don't need it.

rob, the bottom bracket is an L and bolts into the lower seat belt bolt. I used an eye bolt so I can clip my harness in there.

racerfreak, you'd have to ask John. He can also make them so they come down from the top seat belt bolt (less material) -- but since I don't have my rear seat any more, I prefer this design.

I wanted to run a harness for racing, this works for now, until I can plan out and to a full cage.

Another amazing mod Garm, looks tits.

Time to start subtracting all those unnecessary plastic panels and such and start realizing that this is becoming more of a race car than a daily driver.

Yet again, Garm is leading the way in Yari performance modification... I am so jealous. Maybe someday, I'll get a better job and have more disposable income...

I'm going to start an interest thread with two designs, one like mine and one from the top seatbelt bolts (like other harness bars). John has agreed to make them if we run a group buy. Look for that thread very soon
