Not too handy!

Thanks!

Check out this post for a pics of where the tube is located. It is accessible from inside on the passenger foot well. If you try to clear it just have a pan or bucket under it to catch the nasty water that comes out.

That was very thoughtful and, yes, that tube was actually okay, but it's tank above that needs cleaning, and that's tricky. By the way, the dealer admits it's a design problem, but they're not taking responsibility for it. Odd, that Toyota would let something like this pass without fixing it.

Thank you!

Arrow Air Conditioner Noise & Leak

To all :
I found this link : http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.f0f88fe/0
I put my notes as I did on this forum.
U.S Yaris 2006 -? has this A/C issue believe me is a design problem.
At least I found 3 people with the same issue I had.
For Toyota is easy to say I take a complaint and we look into and done nothing.
For further assistance contact http://www.consumerlawcenter.com/

The tank did not drain when my mechanic checked the hose and the local Toyota dealer (Fremont CA) wanted 80-150 to diagnose the problem which I'd already had diagnosed. Wondering what to do, I finally had a moment of inspiration--not bad for a clutz like me--and I thought, "Why not remove the drain hose and stick a clothes hanger up the hole"? Well, it worked. Water poured out of the tank, and the leak has not returned for two months.

Arrow Air Conditioner Noise & Leak?

To avoid water leak in the passenger side you need to do the following:

1st thing you need to do is cleaning the A/C drain located in the passenger side botton left side.
2nd you can't put anything on the glove compartment.
After the A/C drain is cleaned.

Then You can stil use the a/c in circulation mode. How ever you glove compartment can't be use.

Hope this help for now

As long as you have a cabin filter installed, putting things in the glove box is a non issue.

Yeah You may be right.
But I was Told by a Senior Toyota Technician it will decrease the power from your A/C. If not why Toyota has not installed it .. ?
And avoid this issue all the Yaris's owners are reporting with the A/C system.
I do have 3 other cars besides the Yaris I don't have the same problem as the Yaris's has...

It will decrease the overall flow, but considering that if you take in outside air, the filter is the only thing that will prevent airborne stuff from entering the airbox and plugging up the drain, I couldn't imagine not running one.

I think the lack of them on USDM cars is either an oversight or a cost thing.

Arrow Air Conditioner Leak?

All this issues take to the other thread found here:

http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17099

Toyota should take care of this issue as major recall to have proper fix the a/c design on all Yaris 07-08.
Until now I was not aware of this Technical Service Bulletin about the HVAC Odor Affecting all 07-08.(0103-09).
Thanks to the fellow member he post it for us.
I do own another 3 vehicles and in the past I owned several others Toyotas among them and never I got an issue like I do have in the Yaris
I'm tired of the going around.
My vehicle still the same I want to have it repair it properly by Toyota.

Gallons of water pouring onto passenger's feet.

The ac unit on my 2008 Yaris, still less than two years old but over 36,000 so no warranty, is dripping water incessantly onto the passengers side floor.
Exactly as with everyone else on this posting. Left hand turns make the water run out of the pan and all over the passenger's feet.

Bullshit. Way to go toyota. We have another storm brewing for you.

Same story... same leak :(

I've got this same leak on the right side passenger floor coming from right below the glove box and now my carpet is moldy (fantastic). I have a 2007 yaris sedan and I think I have the extended warranty so I might be saved but I buy toyotas because they're reliable this kind of bullshit shouldn't be happening. Just like the gas pedal/brake recall way to go for toyotas "reliability".

You don't need to have extended warranty on this.
Why you have to pay for something the Manufacturer didn't do right..?
Again this is design issue is found in the Yaris 07 hatchback.
I had the Proof by a Chief Toyota Mechanic and a Private Investigator
of Lemon Law.
This a concern that affect some Yaris Owners, because is the way you use
the a/c
I just file this issue with :http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/defects/
(soon more news).
You can check youself in the LA Times articles found about Toyota
http://www.latimes.com/search/dispat...ime+descending

You can contact Your issue as I did with the reporters on those Toyota articles
ralph.vartabedian@latimes.com
ken.bensinger@latimes.com

Blocked A/C condenser a real bummer

This has been an issue in my Yaris since the first summer I used the A/C (note: also the first summer I had the car.)

I have found the best tool from under the car is a heave gauge guitar wire. Thanks for the tip on the in-cabin option - I think that will be far easier than having to jack the car up every time I have to do this. My dealer basically said there is no fix for it, and the best thing to do is to continue emptying it.

Don't let it go too long, though! I just found out today that I burned out my blower motor, and will now need to replace it.

I am competent enough to change a tire, and check oil, etc. I am pretty good at directions. Would this be a repair I might do myself, or would it need a lot of tools I don't have? I just don't have the money to pay to have it done, and no cabin air is a real bummer.
