TYC Tail Light Condensation

Well, it's starting to be a bit humid in the mornings here and I've noticed that one of my TYC tail lights has condensation in it. Grrrrrr!

Any idea of why it's doing that, and what can be done to fix it?

It happened over the summer after a heavy rain, but now it's starting to drive me nuts...

Cheers! M2

Take the taillight assembly off and clean it out?
That's what I would do.

Why it's doing it? Well it might just be that water/condensation is getting inside and can't get out, simple as that.

How to fix it? I'm not sure, you might be able to use some kind of rubber sealant around the taillights.

Well what I would try is removing the tail light, pulling the bulbs and with a hairdryer blow in some warm air to dry it out. I would then attempt to seal bulb openings and somehow wet the outer edge while at the same time again with hair dryer or compressed air and attempt to see where any air might be escaping. Other than that....getting it dried out and then run a small bead of silicone sealer around the edge. Get it dry quick....don't want any mold or mildew to get started.

Have the same tail lights for about 4 months and haven't had any issues yet. Will have to keep a look out as the weather changes.

Well, I took it off and dried it out. Just some tips, a soda straw is an easy way to remove any water droplets inside the lights (just remember to spit and not swallow! ) and a leaf blower is a lot quicker at drying out the remaining moisture.

I didn't have any clear silicon sealant so I just tightened everything up as much as I could and re-installed the light. If it condensates this bad again, I'll get some sealant and go along the edges. It's the only thing I can think of to do...

Cheers! M2

Use a heat gun on the lens and it gets rid of it, or take the light out and remove the bulbs and use a blow dryer on it where the bulb holes are
