Difference in years

I just purchased a 2010 5 door hatch and would like to know if there is any difference between the 2010 and the previous years? I would like to start looking for aftermarket parts but not much for 2010. The visual difference I see is the design of the front bumper to the older models, but that is all i can differentiate. Thanks people.

2010 and 2009 have the same bumpers, headlights, grill, and fog lights, 2008 and earlier have different ones

Sublte Mechanical differences in the Engine bay make it impossible to instakll older mods in newer models. With the exception of stuff that isn't frame-dependant.

The rear bumper and taillights are slightly different too:

You'll have problems fitting an 07-08 bumper on a 09-10 Yaris and 07-08 taillights will not fit 09-10 models.

Engine and frame is different on both. All mods will work. Except for mods that deal with exterior such as tail lights and body kits that may require minor tweaking to fit. Everything else such as your basic bolt ons will fit

Engine is still the same at 1.5L, atleast for all US based Yari.

ive had both... theres not alot of difference other than the obvious like everyone has said exterior really. the ssk needs a lil tweek but other than that everything goes in place that i have experienced.
its probably easier to ask about a specific part then ask for the list.

2009-2010 yaris headlights are completely different shape than 2006-2008, and will not fit without some modification, the earlier model rear lights CAN fit, but can look funny if you didnt change bumpers because of the shape.

There seem to be minor differences inside the engine bay in the 2010s, such as how the engine mount/dampener thingy (left side of the engine, wtf is that) is bolted on, i guess...Installing a short shift kit in the engine, you may need to shave a little part off the metal, as there is a little notch added to where it rests on the tranny. Also, 2010s have traction control standard, ABS is standard starting 2009. 2010 5 speed have tach(!) pretty much standard.

So far, i had no issues bolting on all my suspension goodies on to the yaris (test fitted, removed for winter)--strut braces F&R, various underside braces, heck, sideskirt lol. the 2006-8 JDM RS bumper fits easy too! :P Sway bar fits no issues at all.

Intake, go crazy, the little lump on the 2009+ yaris headlights have little to no effect on fitment...i have used AFE on it no issues, and currently on the "carbon box" simota SRI designed in like..2006.

basically, like 95% of parts seem to work fine for 2010s, as i just traded an '08 for a '10.

PS: Seats are the same crap in all years. buy a clazzio!

So would the fog lights of the sedan fit the 2010 liftback? I know the older liftback foglights won't fit my yaris.
