The link in the first one, is quite common here for drop in projector headlight. Simply put, it is form over function. It looks great on the car, but the output and light quality is terrible.

^ yes. I had some similar before and threw HIDs in them. The light output was "better" but I didn't like the cutoff on the right being super high. Didn't want to blind drivers as I passed or drove in the left lane.

Do they put out as much light as the oems. That's my only question. I cant find the lumens info. Don't want to to do HID, and I like the way the spec-d's look.

no where near as bright as OEM, or evenly lit, there will be hot spots and the cut off is weird, i had to flatten it out and still no a sharp cut off. They look amazing but perform subpar.

Do they accept different bulbs to make them brighter or are you just stuck with whats in them?

EDIT: Apparently, the bulbs can be upgraded http://www.protuninglab.com/xehidkit06to.html

You just said you dont want to do HID tho. I have HID in mine, and it does help the light to be brighter (duh) but the reflector bowl really wasnt design for it, so hotspots are even worse.

I opted for a 12" LED light bar and LED replacement bulbs. Mounted the bar using the license plate bolts.
Plenty of nice clean daylight (4500K) illumination down the road now.

Get some HID's which cost more than his car is worth, that's some good advice...
