well...nice to see another car forum with a bunch of jerks on it.

thank you for your well thought replies...now...the question...do i care...the answer is no...i do not care what any of you think.

so, thank you for all the helpfull suggestions...I will be going lower profile when i have the money, untill then they will stay on there...so, unless you all have the money to give me to buy differant tires (as I said, the tires on there were free) please to not try to bully me into buying something I do not have the money for right now.

P.S. Lock to lock no rub, there is actually 1" of clearance. there is 2" fender to tire, and the only thing that rubs is the rear mudshields in the back if you take a speed bump fast.

SPADES, you absolutely not understand the what the problem is! It have nothing to do with the wheel clearance, it's the lastest of the concerns! It's related with the VSS (vehicule speed sensor) who provide the most importants measurements to your ECU (Engine Controller Unit). If your ECU is not receiving the right datas from the sensor about the driving speed and conditions, it will fuck up all the settings of the engine (air/fuel mixture, ect). It is really major! If you don't trust us, just call your dealer right fuc*** now.

If you don't have the money to put the right tires on your car, just keep the stocks on! You don't have to break something major on your car because you don't have the money to buy right tires... it doesn't make sense!

Perfect sir! No problem at all. I actually use 185-60-14 on the Echo instead of the stock 175-65-14.

SimmZ speaks the truth.

Running different setups that are beyond 2-5% difference of original diameter is pretty bad for the vehicle.

We're not forcing or bullying you to get tires you can't afford, we're just advising you that you should hold off on installing your rims until you get the proper tires for them.

Not to offend you, but are you that hurting to get new rims on right away?

Bunch of JERKS

Hey Man! We're trying to save you $$$..you might end up paying more...We don't want to see you lose your investment. This is what I read about Plus Sizing...

Plus Sizing

Plus sizing your wheel & tire combination was designed to enhance vehicle performance and looks by allowing fitment of larger diameter rims and lower profile tires. The theory is that while making these changes, you keep the overall tire diameter within 3% of the original equipment tires. This is important because larger variances can cause problems with transmission shift points which can decrease fuel mileage. It can also confuse braking system computers which can even lead to brake failure.

Here's the rule of thumb for "plus sizing":

Plus 1:
Increase section width by 10mm
Decrease aspect ratio by 10 points
Increase rim diameter by 1 inch

Plus 2:
Increase section width by 20mm
Decrease aspect ratio by 20 points
Increase rim diameter by 2 inches.

This is not exact, but it will usually get you in the right ballpark. We always recommend consulting with the people you are purchasing the wheels and tires from to ensure fitment.

And Hey! if your Car is OK and nothing happens more power to you!

If you decide to post a picture of your car on a forum, you have to expect people to make comments about it...I mean not only good comments.

No one has been disrespecting you here, and trust me many would have in other forums. I agree with SimmZ, his suggestions are only for your own good. Instead of telling that all of us, but you alone, are "jerks" because you really want us to understand that you don't care about our comments and suggestions...you should try to do a little research on the importance of wheels and tires specs on a car.

My suggestion, if you don't have the money to buy a good set of tires...don't go buy 17inch wheels! Their's a difference between not having enough money and not knowing what to do with the money you have.

But as long as you're happy with what you have....it's fine with me and you can still be a friend

All the postings on here is good advice even though it might not seem like it at times. People just need to be a little more helpful instead of being quick to say YOU ARE A F*&^ING MORON or something to that nature. No wonder you feel like you are being bullied at times. Some people just need to tune it down a notch.

Wow, dont get your panties in a bunch. People are just trying to help. Maybe they could be a little less dramatic when they post but its just advice. Don't post if you don't want responses.

BTW, your statement makes you just as much of a jerk....

205/40/17 will be your best fit.
My 17"s was 7-1/2"wide so I went with 215/40/17

Just for your info, the tires size doesn't really matter with the wheels. It does matter with the car it's going on. Definitely 205/40/17 will be your best bet.

Enjoy!
