Wow, I just checked this thread out. Sorry about your loss but trust me, it's better they toss you a check rather than fix it. Mine was beat up pretty bad and they decided to fix it and it isn't the same car, and the body shop f*cked up the paint and refuses to fix it.

Sorry for your loss and glad you are OK.

If they total it out, you now know what exactly you want on the next one and will have parts for it!

If they don't total it, don't think of it as bad luck like someone else suggested...the crash could have been a lot worse and you could have been majorly injured...think of it as something that saved you from serious harm and restore it as much as possible back to its badass self ASAP!

Good luck!

Again, glad you're ok

Pull anything useable off before they tow it off, get all the TRD stuff off , see if they will give you the wreck some times they will not mess with them if they have to tow it agin . & then they let you keep it ..

TRY THIS ..claim the aftermarket parts as part of the value that they owe you for the car ,they will say No ! then you say this "i'm getting a lawyer" ,they whine & then You say this "let me have the wreck free & clear & i'll not claim the aftermarket parts & they don't have to tow it off "..

.A guy at work totaled his Ford Mustang 'new car' & they gave it to him for $ 500 as he had in his drive way .. parted the thing on ebay & Craigs list made a bundle & then sold the shell as scrap metal for $100

excellent Idea, will have to remember that if I ever wreck ANY car I have.

Shouldve done that with the S-10 I had wrecked a month or so back. Couldve made a bundle on the good axles and motor... Car was totaled due to frame being bent in the front. But the motor only had Intake damage. Coulda-Shoulda-Woulda.

The '08's are arriving "mid-August"; even confirmed it at a few dealerships.
All your aftermarket parts will fit. You can also get a tach and ground effects on the S model

Here's the press release from the Toyota site:

Quote:
The Yaris subcompact carries over unchanged for 2008 except for the addition of a standard tire pressure monitoring system for all models. The 2008 Yaris also gains the all-new Liftback Sport model. The Yaris Liftback Sport features several exterior enhancements, including color-keyed front and rear under-bumper spoilers and side rocker panels, and is equipped with standard features such as driver and front passenger sport seats, leather-trimmed steering wheel and shift knob, tachometer with amber illumination, 15-inch wheels, rear window defroster, rear window wiper, AM/FM/CD player with MP3/WMA capability and auxiliary audio input jack.

The five-speed manual transmission Liftback carries a base MSRP of $11,300 and the Sedan with automatic transmission carries a base MSRP of $12,900. The Yaris Sport Liftback with five-speed manual transmission will carry a base MSRP of $12,975. All Yaris vehicles arrive in August and the total Yaris average MSRP increases $150 or 1.2 percent.
... I would definitely wait 3 weeks

yea really, I searched all over the web last night, NOTHING!

I play my BS card on this one, but I could see a dealer doing it as a markup tool, add a body kit here or there...

I'd rather add that stuff myself. Also, why would they call it a sport version without even a suspension upgrade?
