Engine Block Coolant Drain Cock Location

Sorry for the stupid question. But where is the Engine Block Coolant Drain Cock located on a 2010 1nz-fe, found a "diagram" online that showed it just about the intake manifold, but the bolts or plugs around there are the intake manifold bolts.

What you were looking at in the diagram wasnt the intake manifold, it was the exhaust manifold.

It's on the back of the block under the exhaust manifold.

FWIW you only end up removing an extra 100mls or so when you use the block drain valve compared 5o the radiator pet cock

this is true. it's not really a "drain." more of a "bleeder" for when you are filling the system. air can become trapped it that area and it's good practice to crack it open when filling... (of course close it when coolant flows out)

also, what does "FWIW" mean?

"For what its worth"

There is no way I'm reaching near that exhaust manifold while the car is running to bleed the coolant

The 1nz bleeds very very well by itself within the first week of driving it. Keep the overflow reservoir topped up and your good to go
