Rust spots on trunk

I was loading some junk into the trunk yesterday and noticed four rust spots on the back of the trunk lid (sedan). Looks like blisters to me. Might be 1/32" across. Had the car for eight months, it's a 2008. White. Any suggestions?
Haven't found any anywhere else.

That's what I was thinking. Just wondered if it was a common problem.

WHITE!!

Common on any white car. Believe me when I tell you that is is brake dust in the air that adheres to white paint and rusts.

Simple solution - Clay Bar and they will vanish. Get a jewelers eye loupe and look real close at them before and after...... they are on the surface and not coming through the paint.

Clay bar the wax. White sucks to keep clean.

Yea same thing happened to mine in a few locations, sometimes they come out when washing / waxing though i believe a clay bar is probably the proper way to handle them. you will be fine, mine probably were there all thru last winter and all came off just fine in spring.

reminds me of the problem nissan used to have shipping cars on the train, the would pick up alot of metal particles when going past some iron factories on the way which made them rust on the hoods and roof. this is why they wrap them in plastic for delivery now.

Offtopic:

I'm in NE Ohio but I've never heard of Conneaut, where exactly is it? I'm about 30 minutes south of Canton.

Look in the very NE corner of the state. I'll check into the brake particles suggestion. Kind of strange that it just happens on the back of the trunk and not on the top. I luv white.

Sorry guys, it's not brake or iron particals. I called the dealer today "bring it up so we can look at it" Sat. Jan 24. Must be a one off screwup. Will keep you posted.

Hi, Just got my car back. It looks like new! As far as I can tell, they did a nice job. They detailed the outside after the paint job. Three days and I got a free loaner a Camray. What a soft ride that was. I spent as much on gas for three days as I do for a whole week in the Yaris. But it's OK, my minicorolla is back like new. Thanks Classic Toyota!
