An American gallon now in NJ is ~$3.50.

A diesel would be an improvment over a hybrid which is all we get from big T.

The US has quite a few laws and regulations against using diesel fuel. The diesel motors have to be very clean to be able to run. Ironically, there are different regulations for Large trucks (like transfer trucks and 2500 series pickups) that allow them to get past some of those laws but not all.

I wish we had some of the diesel options that our neighbors to the north have (canada). I know they could at one time get the diesel smart and I think even the diesel yaris. I would love to have a diesel mini.

Spot of detailing done yesterday. Never realized how much fun doing the car yourself was!! Never am I going to the car wash again.

Method:

Hosed down to get rid of loose debris
2 bucket method with AG Car Shampoo and Conditioner
De-Tarred with AG Intense Tar Remover
Clayed with AG Detailing Clay and AG Quick Detailer
Polished with AG Super Resin Polish
Waxed with AG HD wax

So much fun. didn't get too many pics. Infact. I took only 1 just after I rinsed the car down in the first step... Lost light and it's poured down with rain all day today so couldn't take an after photo :( Gives me an excuse to do it again ;)

The irony in your post is that I have been waiting for fuel prices to severely spike for years. I think for us (the US) it is just a matter of time.

The rest of the world drives small, fuel efficient cars while we drive our huge trucks and SUVs as daily drivers. Generally speaking, we think it is good to get 30mpg (on average).

I do think this mentality is changing somewhat but it is still there. I don't think I will forget the Hummer days any time soon. 13mpg and it seats 5 (just like my yaris).

Bit of an update! Bought Corolla t-Sport wheels for my car today. Love the way they look. The car is just crying out to be lowered now though! Guess what I'm gonna be sorting out next month ;)

had a chance to head out and take some photos of my pride and joy yesterday :) so I thought I'd upload a current image of how she stands with the way she was the day I got it 3 months ago. It's crying to be lowered now!! Was going to buy springs but I've decided to wait it out and buy some coilies so I can kick the camber out as well :)

It's true! We fill up per litre but we judge our cars on MPG. We're a strange bunch here you know lol

Wow it's come a long way already!

What did you use to tint your headlights and fog lights?

I used the fly eye stuff mate :) I'd recommend it. Doesn't look quite as good very close up, but it still allows a lot of reflection from the reflectors and if I change my mind about it and no longer want it on, I can remove it really easily :)

It's been a while since I've done anything to the car so it's good to be posting again!!!

Still not lowered it yet but done a couple of things today.

I've plastidipped the wing mirrors red. Not 100% happy with them as I think it'd look better with a darker red, so will get them into the sprayers and get them done the same time I do my wheels!

I've also de rubstripped the front and back end of the car. Gives it a muuuch smoother look

:)
