Engine support beam placement?
I'm getting ready to do the gearbox swap thing, and I've borrowed an engine support from a friend. I'm looking at the engine bay and having some doubts about where I can put the beam's feet that won't wander/shift under load. I've also got access to an engine picker, but I don't think it will reach the engine bay with the car on the lift.
Any feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! |

I've had a few engines and trannies out and I support the engine from underneath primarily at the recessed area between the oil pan and the tranny. I use a regular floor jack with a hockey puck on it, rather than an engine cradle, as our engine is awfully narrow for a traditional cradle.
