Hazard/Indicators permanently on & not flashing

Hey,

When I turn the car on, all the hazard lights come on, but don't flash.

Then when I press the hazard's button, nothing changes, still solid lights, just hear the hazard's clicking.

Same thing goes for trying to use the indicator, lights all stay solid just makes the clicking noise.

When I turn the car off, the hazards start flashing for a bit til they turn off.
Also if I turn it off, and push the hazards button they start flashing faster.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Brodie

Do you by any chance have an aftermarket alarm or remote starter?

If so, I would suspect that being the cause. If not, it may be the flasher module for the signals that is bad. It is a larger plastic block on the under-dash fuse panel.

Yeah I do have an aftermarket alarm, I don't know much about it though

The car was previously a security car that I purchased from a car yard, So I only have a small booklet for the alarm which is from a local company

This only just started happening as well

Thanks for the reply,
Brodie

In that case, I would definitely thing the alarm is the issue.

Yes, it is. I have a similar aftermarket keyless entry system and the same thing happens to me when I enter my vehicle using only the original car key. (not pressing the unlock button on the remote)

The system is still armed and believes someone has broken in the car, thus when you turn your aux. on, the immobilizer allows your engine to turnover and start, but your alarm will sound and hazards will start flashing. (like me, i'm guessing you don't have a siren installed)

If only there was a way to integrate the two of them...
