Intake group buy?

Can someone who knows what their doing try and get an Intake group buy together. I'm not sure about everyone else, but I love these group buys to save some dough. And I need an intake. So I don't know, whats are your thoughts?

It would be about the same as any intake really, just that the ARC induction box systems have a heatshield that works to help keep out hot air.

does anyone kno how much power an intake will really give a yaris???
im really doubting how much power an ARC intake will give comparative to how expensive it is...

but u never kno

id say for a yaris, an intake might give 5 hp
maybe if tuned professionally, some 5-10 hp
but nothing major, or at least id think...

I agree. ARC isn't the best choice when it comes to intakes in my opinion. Besides that the stock intake on the yaris isn't all that bad. Your probably looking at maybe 3hp increase for something like an aem cold air. Should mainly help with fuel economy though.

You can make a heat shield for 20 bucks... why the hell would you pay 500 to have someone make one for you. Sillyness.

where's hyde at? i think he has a blitz sus intake installed

and has anybody heard of monster motorworks??

i asked them if any of their xb/xa products will fit the yaris and this was their response:

"We’re currently working on getting an intake on the market for the Yaris. Currently, our ignition equalizer, header, and engine cover plate SHOULD fit, but has not yet been fitted and confirmed. If you are in the SF Bay Area, and would like to volunteer your vehicle for fitment and product development, please let me know. In exchange you will receive a free intake."

Yeah the ARC's are a lot for show, they're nice looking, but gains wouldn't be much more than a $100 intake

ah, found a pic of the ARC unit for our car: (the first one in the line, of course)

Is there really that big of a difference between intakes? As far as I can see all the matters is the diameter of the tubing and some nice smooth bends. Buying a 30 dollar CAI off of ebay still scares me though.

your right it's all in the bends, but also in the location of the filter. The arc does not do much for keeping heat away from the intake, so it's not to different from a facotry system. Actually the factory intakes may do more to prevent heat from getting to the filter lol. Cold airs would be ideal, and even those ebay intakes can be just as good as aem ones.
