Smile New Sedan Owner as of 8/13

I'm 52 and this is my 1st Toyota ever..no more Ford's 4 Me....

I left an 11 year minivan for a Yaris Sedan

I went in to buy the LB but spent about 900 more for the sedan....

Hello to all you fellow Yaris Owners- I am happy to join the Yaris Sedan and LB family...

all the best...

Thanks everyone....
First of all I'm doing mostly a mix but no real stop and go gridlock stuff yet....I still have 6 bars left and the dealer filled it up at 8 miles when I drove it home last Monday Sherry....

I bought it with the convienience pkg,all weather package and mats - MSRP $14,380 - bought it for 13,300 (before tax, DMV stuff etc)

I hope I got a good deal...any thoughts?

awesome!! for me, i am always in stop and go traffic. the road i take to and from work is always congested and one of the worst roads to take but it connects a lot of cities together, which is why I gotta take it. anyway, glad you're enjoying your new yaris.

I really wanted the LB- I absolutely loved the look of it...loved the 2 test rides I took (1 hwy 1 city) but my Irishg catholic guilt started to work on me - I am a Dad to 3 boys although 1 has his own car the 15 y/o and 13 y/o still go with me on trips and to hockey games all winter (I coach one of their travel teams)..so in answer to that question nqd..I wanted to purchase the LB...and then when I saw the potential difference (approx $945.00 after tax)
and factored in the need for bringing my sons and potentially their friends from time to time to hockey/skateboardind etc...I opted for the (in my humble opinion) less exciting body style of the sedan....

I was very surprised to find out that the base auto sedan weighed 14 pounds less than the auto base LB. So I'm hoping for the same gas mileage as the liftback.

Thanks for your reply....

Soon, you can make contributions to the thread about things you've noticed about the Yarii, for better or worse. Wasn't it cool this morning, first thing, to find that little nugget parked in your driveway?

Yes Tom it was....at first I was missing the capacity/versatility of the Ford minivan (i.e. bringing the kayak down to the Hudson River etc) but not the mechanical problems and awful mpg.) but I am absolutely looking forward to much improved mpg and reliability. The Windstar was 11 years old and only had about 76000 miles on it but things were going wrong and I was afraid I'd hold it until the transmission went....)

Anyway I did about 2 months worth of reading and test driving and came very very close to buying the Hyudai Accent H/B - a friend of mine thru hockey works at a local Hyudai dealer....but after test driving the Fit/Versa/Accent and Yaris..I chose the Yaris.

I started the process around June and bought my yaris on 8/13/07.

Thanks for the warm welcome to the board everyone.....

Hope everyone is doing well.....
