07 HB with 76000 miles-$6K. Did I do well?

New to this forum and to yaris in general. I recently bought an 07 bayou blue HB with just under 76000 miles on it for $6K. It is a 5 spd MT. I bought it for my daughter as a reliable commuter for college. What I'm seeing on here says I did pretty good. What say you more learned people?

You gave us the year, the miles and cost and on the face of it I would say........................yes.

As you scour this forum you'll see a few known issues; I.E. lower control arm bolts, water pump issues come immediately to mind, water pump well..............seems hit or miss. the bolts are what I consider a design flaw and short of risking snapping one..................well you can read all about it here of the forum.

If the bolts aren't an issue and or have been replaced recently and the water pump is not dripping anywhere I'd say you did very well given the low miles.

Welcome, Cheers.

If the control arm bolts haven't been replaced, I'd buy two from a dealer and then have an independent shop take out the old ones and put in the new ones as a preventative measure (well under $30 for labor (IIRC), and the bolts were well under $40 out the door (IIRC) for two of them for my '07 Yaris). The exact amounts I paid are either on Kal-El's 'Mileage Thread', the 'Control Arm Bolt Thread', or both.

Welcome to the forum !

Thanks for that info. I hadn't scoured enough of this site to find that. I will probably take your advice. So far I enjoy driving the car quite a bit.
