OKay you say timing chain is good usually for the life of the car. I have a 2007 with 167,000 miles and was going to sell to someone, and there parents are all over me that I have never had the timing chain changed and that should have been done at 100,000 miles. Now I know belts are 100,000 but I could not find anything on the interval of the chain and what the typical cost of this service would cost if I need to consider it in the price of the vehicle I am selling... Is there anywhere that I can show this person that the timing chain doesn't have a recommended change interval?

No interval I've seen for chain replacement. That's the big advantage to the chain vs a belt is reduced maintenance over the life of the vehicle.

Show them your oil analysis reports! I'd buy your car if I was looking!

What are you replacing the Yaris with?

That is sweet I don't have to worry about a timing belt. My friend's Honda's are a PITA!
Now I need to find out about my Tacoma, belt or chain.

Have them inspected at 400,000 miles.

OK, kinda kidding, but not really. Some highway drivers have gone over 400K with the Yaris on original brake pads. Seriously!

I drive a mix of city and still have 45% on my original pads at 112K.

I changed my brake pads at 150,000 km. Well, actually, my son changed them.

How do I know that my automatic transmissions fluid have been changed before?

Because I need to know if I will need to do it.

Thank you.

tranny fluid change interval

Hi guys, I just bought a 2009 yaris with 5 speed manual tranny and new at this forum. Does anybody know why we have to change out the tranny fluid at 40k miles, 80k miles ? that seems a very short interval to me most modern engines go 100k miles on manual tranny fluid. And what type of fluid to use, toyota stuff? only? thanks

Same here.

I'm looking to find what maintenance was recommended between 80,000 and 160,000KM...

Here's hoping there's a mirror somewhere.

EDIT
Don't ask how, figured my way through the internet.
Here's what seems like a legit maintnance schedule for yaris 2007
https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BxI3...?usp=drive_web

Got it from http://smg.toyotapartsandservice.com/guides.php
