About 110-113 a few years back. Was driving from Chicago to Iowa on a clear sunny day. Road was straight and flat, and not another vehicle in front or behind me, and I remember just flooring it. Next thing I knew I hit the governed limit and cross winds were were making me feel just a little uneasy so I slowed it back down after several minutes at top speed.

Lower it, get some wider tires and add a rear sway bar. That problem will go right away. I cruise between 90 and 100 during as much of my 400 mile weekly commute as I can...LA/OC traffic permitting.

I've had my stock Yaris 1.0 above 124 mph, the speedometer wouldn't go higher than 199km/h but my navigation did, 205 km/h. To be honest, it was downhill...

Does the Yaris have a governor or limiter I've gone 117 mph one day and the next over 120 mph with a serious back wind on the same stretch of road? For a car with around 100 hp; 115 mph is about right. We might have rpm limiter but that's more for engine life right? A speed governor is for an M3 @155mph and When you hit 155 thats it even down a hill. BUT I don't know I'm a simple lawyer from Kentucky this Post is more of a big what if as you will.

All stock so far.
and NO BS!
The only way you were gonna do that is with either 18s and 225/35 tires with a stiff wind or going down a very steep LONG hill. That is the ONLY way that you will get that much faster than the 118 fuel cutoff and you would have been up to speed for a few miles at least with 0 cross or headwinds...in other words I call

I have reached 129.734mph and have the timeslip (133 by GPS) to prove it. I have hit 146 on a dyno (have dyno chart) when the rev limiter kicked in which is actually not a rev limiter, but a secondary fuel cut off as the ECM leans you out to over 17 for your AFR and it retards the hell out of your timing too...knocking off the rev limiter is pretty unwise. The 145/146 IS the top speed that the car will go with a stock motor "safely". At this point you would need to build up the bottom end making sure to upgrade the rods because in order to bump up the rev limiter for uses at extended periods of time over the 6250 you would want to upgrade the head too. The limits of the stock transmission are still a mystery since you indeed hit the rev limiter before you "run out of gear". Unless something changes I won't be able to verify the limits of the stock tranny unless I was to find a way to get the car out to Bonneville since by the time I do the LSRs next summer I should (fingers crossed) have both motor and trans built.

I stopped at 150km/h, it was on the highway, and i was still getting passed, Im to afraid of loosing my liscence to F around too much. I prefer going on a drag strip to do that kind of stuff.
