"You cut the legs off your car!!" The very first response to my newly lowered Yaris.

Well I finally had a free day that coincided with the Craft Shop on base being open. So I grabbed some air tools, some YW guidelines, some bravery, and headed off for a day of getting dirty. Never lowered a car before, this is my first one. And I'm so glad I did it.

Went out for an impromptu shoot late last night with my shit camera because I couldn't wait to get a good shoot laid out with my good camera.

Before shots:

After shots:

Huge thanks to Yaris0609 for an awesome deal on the springs and prompt negotiating. I have the TRD shocks on order, but wanted to see how low it would be. I got impatient waiting. Now that I know how easy it is, the shocks going in will be no problem. I can only imagine how much better it is with the TRD swaybar, because it's already really good.

FOR THE RECORD: The hats were up on my car when it was on the stock suspension. Not a lot, but they were not flush with the strut towers. It's just how they come from the factory. Also, I did not cut the bumpstops because I plan on using the TRD shocks as well. Even at that, I do not find the ride overly bouncy. Yes, the front pitter-patters around more on crappily-paved offramps but it's not dangerous or anything. I drive slow as a grandma too, so I may just not be going fast enough to notice.

Role call: Savannah Yarii need to get together now for a proper shoot! I won't look like an offroader next to you guys anymore!

Hope you enjoyed.

What springs? Looks like a TRD drop.

Tokico blues: better and cheaper shocks/struts than TRD.
Ultra Racing sway bar: equal quality and cheaper than TRD.

It's the TRD springs. It's sunk about 1.2" so far. Like I said, struts are still stock.

Thanks for the tips Garm. I'll definitely look into that, as I don't believe the TRD shocks have shipped yet. With 55K on the stock shocks, I don't plan on running them too long on the lower springs.

Thanks all. :)
