Cd player stuck in eject mode.

My 2008 Yaris cd player gets stuck in eject mode and won't take a cd. Got a used one on Ebay and that worked a week and started doing the same thing. It's working for now but could the problem be located in the player or somewhere outside of the player? Any fixes? Number on radio/cd is 11833Thanks.

I've never seen nor heard of that issue. Are you sure it is not your CD?

Tried different cd's. It also shows a cd loaded when there is none. Mine worked since I bought it new in 2008. It just started this and the new used one just started this also.

Wow. I could see on failing, but not a second with the same issue. Did you use the OEM bolts to mount the radio to the brackets? If you used longer ones, perhaps that would be causing it.

All original bolts and identical player. Super easy install. It has to be an internal problem with the player doesn't it?

If you are buying the headunits, you might want to look into the scion pioneer ones.

I would say it is definitely an internal problem. It would be interesting to disassemble one of the bad ones to see why it did what it did. If you want to stick with an OEM one, I have a perfect CD playing one in Crashy (my snowplowing Yaris). I could sell you that one for a good price in exchange for one of your bad ones. If I can't fix it, I can at least still use the radio.

Thanks for the offer. I should be able to return the one I got off Ebay and exchange it. If I get a refund, I'll probably get an aftermarket one with wiring harness for under a hundred bucks.

Was told by the seller that the player needs cd cleaner. It's been working the last few days but I used the cleaner anyway. I don't know how dust would make it stick in eject mode but it's worth a try.

There are couple infrared sensors that detect the cd position in the system.

Say, if you put a cd in, but hold it just enough so it doesn't catch on the belt to suck it in, it will stay on loading for a long time.

A cd cleaner will clean the lens, not these sensors.
