Oil filter comparison

Found this while investigating oil filters. Very informative.

My 1974 Beetle went 250,000 miles on its main, rod, and cam bearings and it didnt even HAVE an oil filter.

And it only had 2 1/2 quarts of oil in it!

So (if you want my advice ) get the CHEAPEST oil filter you can!

This test was a pretty good one. Good only for a general sense of how the various filters are made, since we don't use the same size on our Toyotas.

In my opinion, though, I think that any of the major brand filters are "good enough" for a normal oil change interval.

I am the tech manager at FRAM Filtration. This study is hardly anything more than unscientific speculation, nothing about actual filtration. If you want to see how filters are tested and what the test standards are, here is a video showing the tests all filter makers use
