Well, if you put the oil catch can in wrong, and oil can't flow or leaks out and this causes damage to your engine, then no, this won't be covered under warranty.

If you put a catch can in correctly and you're having problem with the suspension which you haven't touched, then, yes warranty should cover it. Even if you did springs and struts/shocks and were having problems with suspension not due to your installation or putting the wrong parts in, they would still have to cover it.

They basically have to be able to prove that what you did directly and negatively affected what you are bringing the car into be serviced for, to deny warranty claims.

All the dealer has to do is to claim that your mods have affected the OEM perfomance. There's NO proving it on their part until you actually go to court. They don't have to work on your vehicle at all. It's their choice.

Yes, by law the dealership SHOULDN'T have an issue. What is it? The Magnussen/Moss act or something close to that? But we all know $hitty dealers...

i lowered my car, installed sub, new HU, 6 new speakers (doors and put new 6x9's on the rear flappy thinggy), added torque damper, lite crank pully and water pump pully and i have had no issues with warranty.

i am still planning to do HID's and rear sway bar before my warranty is up.

when installing my lowering kit i ripped a boot so i took it into the dealer and they did it under warranty as many other things i have gotten under warranty that i prob shouldn't have.

the base line is they want to keep u happy and coming back.

Well if they dont know about it they cant cause trouble. I have the home made cruise control on mine and I installed it so it cant be detected if I so choose.
