Yaris RallyCross Photos...

Took place in a RallyCross with the Yaris this morning, thought y'all might get a kick out of seeing the photos. Unfortunately the quality's not great since I, obviously, I wasn't shooting...

Needless to say, the hubcaps come off for this sort of event...

Not a great photo, but this shows you how rutted the first track was after the second heat started. High suspensions are good for some things...

Managed to whack something on the first run. Didn't feel it in the car, but there you have it. Should pop out, we'll see.

This last turn was a real bitch...

Caked... don't forget to knock that stuff off before you hit the highway. ;)

The Yaris did great, btw. We were pretty competitive on the first course, and that's in a class with 2.4L engines, so I can't feel too bad about that. Handling was great, the suspension took the bumps surprisingly well. Really don't have any complaints.

That looks like a lot of fun Idjiit, and I can see what you mean about the higher suspension giving you the needed ground clearance. So can I assume this is like a time-trial on a dirt course????? Do you do auto-cross (or whatever those things in the parking lot are called) as well?
BTW you are right about karts (from your post on another thread), fun comes in small sizes too!

Yeah, it's basically AutoCross on dirt. I haven't AutoCrossed at all yet - it doesn't really interest me. I'm much more of a Rally guy than a road course guy. I may give it a shot with the Yaris just for the hell of it. It's a fun car to drive at the limit.

Wow, pretty cool shots, especially the one with the dirt flying!

Were u using the handbrake much ? Pic one looks liek uve tramped the brakes on a tad too hard. Mud/Grass is fun in a FWD cos most the time a the handbrake will get the car turning, then u can power out the corner :)

OOH.. and congrats on being the first i know to thrash a Yaris in this way ... masssive props to u sir!!!

Wasn't using the e-brake a whole lot really. The first course was pretty tight so I used it on a couple turns, but the second one was pretty open so the e-brake wasn't very useful.

Remembered the thing that still bugs me about the Yaris - the accelerator is too far away from the brake. Impossible to heel-toe. I think I may just fab my own pedal extension.

Cool pics! I can't wait till winter time and some snow... I bet this car will be a lot of fun to toss around with the e-brake!

poor Yaris!!

I would never do this to my Yaris. I'am not brave enough to rally cross it, hehe.

I love love love the Japanese stock Vitz RS look. I think it looks so classy. IMO I think the Jap Vitz RS does not need any extra body kits. One day when I can import the RS rear and front bumper and tail lights, that would end my search to customize my Yaris.

I totally agree! While that looks like soooo much fun...I think I would have to kill myseld if I mashed in my bumper like that. I shed a tear and it wasn't even my car!

Cool pics though.

Man, life's way too short to worry about keeping a car clean.

Yeah I hear what you're sayin', but there's nothing better to me than striding out your front door in the morning and seeing a gleeming car sparkling in the sunshine...that is second to none.
