Squeek!

So I my sedan is about 2 months short of turning 2 years, I have not changed my brakes at all. Everytime I step my brake I hear like a *squeek*, not one of those long ones just when I step and release...I dont know if that makes sense but anyone have any ideas as to what it is? new brakes? change brakes or clean and condition? please help!

thanks in advance!

The brakes have things in them to make a noise when they get worn down... I'd get them checked and get some new ones.

It could be the wear indicator. You need to get them checked. If the brakes get too worn, they'll damage the rotor and cost you more money.

I have the same squeak sound. I believe somewhere on here I read that you can put some grease on it and it stoped. I have 82,000 miles and my front brakes are over 50% still. I didn't check the rear cause they should last longer than the front. And I never replaced drum brakes. The sound seems to come from the back though

yeah, but you never know.

OP, I'd get that checked. Always err on the side of caution

Last time I had a "squeaky shoe" noise, it was my CV boot going out. Not cool and not cheap.

I dont think wear indicator because it only squeaks when pressing the brake pedal. I can be parked and it does it. Almost like a spring or something in the drum brakes needs to be lubed

Can you hear it from outside the vehicle or just from the inside?

I've had a squeak when not even moving and it was the pivot on the pedal, little bit of grease took care of it.
